Located in the Law Office of African American civil rights attorney Walter L. Gordon III, the mural is based on photographs he selected. A sign on the scales of justice reads, "Out of Order." Elsewhere a lynching is depicted. Kunta Kinte, the hero of Roots (Alex Haley's groundbreaking 1977 American TV miniseries), looks down from the upper left-hand corner.
