Triptych, Mixed media on wood panels, 42” x 18”, 1,300 USD

I love patterns—swirls and checkerboard. I painted the three panels’ backgrounds first, and they languished until I finally thought of a unifying theme to bring them all together. These photos of Indonesian puppets were in my ‘image arsenal,’ and they worked perfectly! I added very subtle shadows to elevate the puppets from the backgrounds. But each piece was still lacking just one little thing—so I added windows.
