What I love about collage is that it allows so many variations outside the norm. Body parts can be switched. Increasing or decreasing the size of a head or face, or distorting a body shape can give a very different look. And men can be put in dresses! An abstract artist friend often talks about the “hot spots” of color he puts in his paintings to create some tension or interest. I do the same by adding some small motif or image that doesn’t seem to make sense. The spinning top, in this case.
