Santos One
Santos are very popular religious figures in the Hispanic-Roman Catholic world, especially in Central and South America where they can be life-size. They consist of sculpted head and arms, while the rest of the body is a cone-shaped latticework over which very elaborate costumes are draped. Stripped of their finery, the carved heads have an appealing innocence. The wooden arms with pinned joints that allow movement offer endless opportunities for repositioning them in a collage.
