Untitled
A long time ago while walking with friends in a German forest, I saw a very large “roaring” deer for the first time. It was very impressive and loud. I immediately associated it with a forest deity, half man-half animal. After that, fauns began to appear in my woodcuts, illustrating my colorful world.
This piece is from the Reception Committee series of 27 woodcuts produced for the 2004 World Cultural Forum in São Paulo. It was exhibited at the entrance of the Pólo Cultural Anhembi, a large outdoor venue with a capacity of 103,200.
