Alaskan Venus

Acrylic and molotow marker on shaped panel, 34” x 16”, Artists Collection

Alaskan Venus is my version of Botticelli’s ‘The Birth of Venus.’ The Big Dipper, a symbol of Alaska, glows in the evening sky amidst a sea of stars. An anchor tattoo on her arm represents my hometown of Anchorage. Initials of loved ones are tagged on the rocks. It expresses hope and new beginnings.
