Forged & fabricated bronze. 12' x 3' x 4'

The concept of organic growth inspired the design. Considering the central site chosen by the architect—a garden in front of the Fairchild Theater MSU College of Music—I sought an elegant solution to create a somewhat minimalist piece relative to many of my others. I find it extraordinarily easy to add unnecessary ornamentation to a sculpture, and much harder to edit my work to achieve a striking composition. I was pleased with the piece’s subtle, svelte nature. The translucent deep dark green patina that richly reveals the reflective qualities of the bronze is a significant part of Emergence’s aesthetics.
