Codes of a Fallen Empire 1

Screen print ink, brass powder, collaged paper & oil pastel on cotton rag paper, 30” x 22.5”, 1,500 USD

This is part of a series of monotypes that started as letterforms on transparencies. I then cut the letters up and reassembled them to create the original design for this series. They then got screen printed. The ink was mixed with brass powder, which gives off a metallic sheen. The finished prints then got embellished with collaged materials and drawing.

Curator’s Note: A monotype is a print made by drawing or painting on a smooth, non-absorbent surface and pressing paper against it, thereby transferring the image.
