Like ‘Codes of a Fallen Empire 1,’ this is another version of a two-layered screen print with collaged and drawing interventions. I wanted to layer more hard-shaped design elements against the more gestural and rough-edged letterforms so they would interact with each other. All of the mark making is intuitive, and in response to the preceding layers.
