What We Can’t See

Acrylic & mixed media on canvas, 60 x 60 cm, £850

Sudden deletion into thin air,
then you breathe ME in

With this piece, I look at the fragmentation of the self in the final stages of life. While the personality, mind, and body undergo an extensive transformation, this process causes huge discomfort. The separated limbs mutate into a new entity, re-assembled into a new dance-like form. These pieces are the starting point of my looking at the symbiotic relationship between humans and nature—when a decayed body fertilizes the soil, creating a new life.
