Fragility

Acrylic & mixed media on canvas, 60 x 60 cm, £850

When the shadow absorbed your final breath, you sank and took a part of me with you

With Fragility, I look at the fragmentation of the self in the final stages of life. While the personality, mind, and body undergo an extensive transformation, this process causes huge discomfort. The separated limbs mutate into a new entity, re-assembled into a new dance-like form. These pieces are the starting point of my looking at the symbiotic relationship between humans and nature—when a decayed body fertilizes the soil, creating a new life.
