The Rubble Of You

Tile, moss, glue, pencil, tracing paper photo print on transfer paper, 27 x 20 cm, £500

When I am gone, look for me in another place, I am a speck of dust under your shoe

For this piece, the chipped roof tile is transformed into a canvas, with fragments of reality (moss) mutating into a human. The soft edges of the body create smooth shapes representing a landscape, highlighting this symbiotic relationship. I am frequently drawn to abandoned pieces of building materials, and found objects. I try to rescue and repair the broken pieces to create something unique—attaching a new meaning to it.
