The Mongol
At one point the bandits in Istanbul soared to such numbers that locals were afraid to leave home after the night prayer. Some even stopped opening their stores for fear of being robbed in broad daylight. When this news reached the Sultan’s ear, he called upon “The Mongol” to stop this madness, granting him the title of Pasha with exceptional powers. Though The Mongol was not actually from Mongolia, his facial features led people to believe so. A fierce and relentless warrior, in order to intimidate his enemies, he decorated his uniform with gold-colored ropes that looked just like the ones used to hang criminals.
