Elemtere Fis is the name of traditional prayers to ward off the Evil Eye. This tapestry is from my ‘Sixty, Seventy Shooed to Eternity’ collection in which the Evil Eye theme is combined with traditional kilim patterns. While the blues represent Aegean vibes, the repeating eye motif assures the prayer’s strength. The differing thicknesses of its fibers create shadows, reflections, and depth. May it bring peace to its owner!
