Wellspring

Forged & fabricated bronze, 7' 4" x 7' 7" x 3' 6"

I think a fountain turned off in winter due to frigid weather is a sad, forlorn sight. So as much as possible, I conceive the water features of a fountain to be secondary to the sculpture itself. Considering the design from that perspective minimizes a concern for its year-round appearance. Wellspring’s integrity as a sculpture is independent of the seasons. It is completely liberated from sitting in a pool, with the water feature working via a subterranean reservoir, and the control systems installed in an adjacent building.
