Voyage

Forged & fabricated bronze, 20' 8" x 6' 6" x 7'

Destined for the building’s lobby, Voyage is the largest indoor freestanding sculpture I’ve ever designed. The client was very enamored of an earlier piece, Centripetal, providing an unusual opportunity to revisit a previous composition, and investigate new possibilities. The fact that it had to be brought in pieces through the front door and then assembled, was easily one of the most challenging scenarios I’d ever faced. Plus, the timing was both demanding and inflexible. Necessitating new approaches to many of our methods, the learning curve was steep. Looking back 10 years later, I realize it was my “moon shot.” The knowledge gained eventually changed almost every aspect of how we fabricate sculptures in my studio today.
