FLASHBACKS
Known internationally for his large-scale, joyously colorful figurative paintings, Flashbacks reveals another dimension of Turkish artist Yigit Yazici’s creativity. As a young artist in the early 1990s, he recorded his every artistic impulse in two sketchbooks that accompanied him everywhere—even to the mountains of northeast Turkey during his compulsory army service. But seeking a ‘new era’ for himself, Yigit set them aside for more than 20 years. Fortunately, he decided to mine their treasures and create these gorgeous fine art prints. More abstract than his current work, they nevertheless express Yigit’s trademark love of color and his positivity.
