This is a way of saying, ‘That vibes,’ referring to a refuge, a soothing place. After resigning from an unfulfilling 10-year career as an IT technician, I moved to Landes (France’s equivalent of America’s California) to find freedom. I surfed, took part in a permaculture project, and helped with the construction of a English friend’s guest house. Landes’s zip code is 40, and I moved to Darren Place (DAZ), the year of my 40th birthday. This is a self-portrait from that time.
