I spent two years teaching at the university after receiving my Masters. After that, it was necessary for me to make pots specifically to sell and earn a living. I chose to work with earthenware (red) clay with a white glaze and colors applied over the glaze. In this example, I’ve continued my earlier bulbous jar forms and added painted decoration. I combined forms I love with the joy of painted decoration, and tied the two together so that the imagery works with the pot’s form.
