I began graduate school two years after leaving New York, and committed to a course of study for the next three years. As a potter, I explored all the basic pottery forms related to everyday use. This porcelain teapot is one example. At the same time, I took advantage of its swelling body to apply glaze in the form of irises. Decorating the forms was becoming an interest; specifically, using images from nature.
