Piri Reis was a 16th-century Ottoman admiral, navigator, and cartographer. He authored Kitab-i Bahriye (The Book of the Sea), a groundbreaking reference book in the field of navigation. This historical figure, who left deep traces on the seas with his pen and ink, is the subject of this work. Sitting in the center, Suleymaniye Mosque, a famous Istanbul landmark, symbolizes the city.
