“Blue Cover” is part of my Nima Girls series. It is also a dedication to Muslim ladies and girls who are proud to wear their hijabs, chadors, and niqabs in public despite the harassment and ill treatment they sometimes receive from people due to fear and ignorance.

Nima is the town in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana where I lived as a child. Hijabs, chadors, and niqabs refer to various types of women’s clothing that conform to Islamic standards of modesty.
