“Beauty” was the first piece of art I completed in 2020 while living in NYC under lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic. Because art supply stores were closed at the time, I only had access to limited resources. So I ended up slicing over 2,000 wine corks into small pieces, some of which I used to create this mixed media work. It’s a tribute to the  beauty of African women around the globe who are proud of their complexion, and comfortable with the skin they’re in.
