I am glad you have a library you see the fashion alters for popular authors just the same as anything else and you see with me not being in the social atmosphere (as our Willie would say) I can only tell you the names of old fashioned authors but you would like them if they were in.
Ada Lightfoot was a keen reader. Her daughter Frances obviously had some spare time on her hands at her Aunt Pollie’s house, as she asked her mother to recommend books for her to read. Ada provided her with a long list of authors.
In the works below, vintage books have been altered to hide embroidered feminine luxury objects that Frances might have longed for, making her poverty more poignant.
