Herb Garden
This garden is a product of the nonprofit New York Restoration Project (NYRP) founded by the beloved entertainer and urban activist Bette Midler. Rescuing plots from real estate developers since the ’90s, NYRP now owns and manages 52 community gardens. Local residents, for their part, keep them well tended. When not working their plots, they gather together for barbecues or meetings, surrounded by tomatoes, basil, peppers, and parsley. City life can wait. The garden is here for all.
