Crops in the Fields

I love working in the paddy fields. All the womenfolk of a Baiga village leave early in the morning to work in the fields, carrying our food and the farming implements. The fields are home to a variety of creatures—snakes, birds, and other animals are regular visitors. 

The Baiga tribe is one of several hundred adivasis, the “first inhabitants” of India who mostly live in remote, difficult to reach regions of the country.
