In this painting, I have shown Lord Shiva with Nandi, his sacred bull. Nandi is Lord Shiva’s mount, and also the gatekeeper or guardian deity of Mount Kailash, the Lord’s home.

Lord Shiva is part of Hinduism’s holy trinity along with Brahma (the Creator) and Vishnu (the Preserver). The Supreme Lord, he creates, protects, and destroys the universe in order to transform it. He is often depicted with a serpent around his neck.
