Tahir Aga was commander of all of the Ottoman Empire’s cannon brigades in Southeast Anatolia. His expertise with the cannon made him the most feared commander of his time. His renowned precision spawned rumors amongst both the Ottoman military and its enemies—some of them rather outrageous. One claimed he could fly and pinpoint targets from hundreds of meters above the ground…just like a hawk.
