In this second painting in my ‘Pomegranates Series,’ I wanted to represent the beauty and fertility associated with Aphrodite, the ancient Greek goddess who was born from the foam of the sea near Paphos in Cyprus. The pomegranate in the background represents the hidden passions we are always afraid to express.
