During my lifetime, I have witnessed the expansion of urban growth at a very unpredictable speed. As the borders of built-up areas encroach more on nature every day, human beings are becoming alienated from both nature and other human beings. In this painting of an imaginary city named ‘Ecumenopolis,’ I wanted to represent humankind’s loneliness and alienation.
