Fabricated stainless steel, 10' x 4' x 9'

This sculpture was designed to enhance the entryway of a high-rise residential building. A masonry and tile fountain had previously occupied the space, completely blocking the view to and from the lobby door. The owners were seeking an artist who could create a sculpture with a contemporary aesthetic that would improve the ambiance of the space and express their collective pride in their seaside homes. The circular form allows for an elegant visual effect and metaphorically suggests the building’s entrance. The structure’s organic forms and mechanical details reference both the Gulf of Mexico and its ever-present boats.
