A princess plays an ancient Buddhist instrument in this painting inspired by my memory of seeing the murals in the Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves (Myn-Oy in Uighur) near Turfan. Because photographs and sketches were forbidden, I painted from memory, extensive researching and my imagination.
