This is a portrait inspired by a girl I met in the Inupiaq village of Shaktoolik. Shaktoolik is one of the many coastal villages of the Bering Straits that are threatened by coastal erosion due to the loss of sea ice. Shaktoolik has moved inland various times and will need to move to higher ground once again.
