We’re Rotting!

Though appearing hastily drawn, this line drawing of Arif’s skillfully portrays another character in Ayvalik’s human landscape: the fruit-and-vegetable man. The caption indicates that he shares the same feeling of most of the other characters populating Arif’s world. It literally reads, “Oh my God, we’re rotting.” He’s complaining that he hasn’t made a single sale yet today. The woman in the background seems to share his feelings. His cart announces his name: “Seyfi.”
