Camile Tends to a Customer

I believe this is Arif’s wife Camile in the process of shaving a client in the ground-floor hair salon. Arif’s studio lies just upstairs. When the vintage radio isn’t giving news from the capital Ankara, it’s serenading customers with mournful Turkish tunes. While unclear, I wager the artwork on the walls belong to Arif. He was an incredibly prolific artist at the same time that he plied his profession as a women’s hairdresser. (The pin-up girl at the bottom left isn’t Arif’s.)
